JAMES ST BASS

MUSIC DJ AND TALK HOST

Resident DJ at clubs including Go-Go and Limelight, and hosted 89.5 FM CIUT’s pioneering HardDrive dance music show 1989-1999.

St. Bass inadvertently helped lay the foundations for “Queer West” beyond Bathurst—in 1989,

A queer rocker with a big love for Toronto's warehouse scene began playing a blend of house, disco and exclusive British 12-inches, and from the legendary Boom Boom Room, has been upsetting the traditions on dance floors ever since.
