NEON BLOOM
Toronto-based garage rock/synth-pop quartet Neon Bloom is a unique blending of musical styles, creative influences and wonderfully diverse personalities.
Combining the talents of veteran musicians/recording artists Jen Simpson (lead vocals), bassist/guitarist Fred Yurichuk, guitarist/keyboardist Simon Chow and drummer/keyboardist Chris Romano,
Neon Bloom has already staked a claim as one of the most innovative and energetic live bands on the Toronto scene, by invoking their collective experience as live performers, and a dedicated sense of professionalism and passion for their craft.

Formed three years ago, the story behind their origin may not seem to be out of the ordinary on first examination. But dig a little deeper and you realize that the back story gives great meaning to so many aspects of the band, from their energetic stage shows, to their overall look and creative aesthetic, their dedication to their craft, and especially Simpson’s powerful lyrical creations.
More importantly, the story behind the story is why each band member is so committed to one another, and to their collective musical enterprise, and why they approach life and music with such joyful abandon.
COOL KINGS COLLECTIVE

Starting out as two dudes with Machines, Andrew Penthaüs and Marty Mihal combined their collective musical forces and mixed them with a surplus of passion.

Genre smashing, groundbreaking, fusionistic are a few descriptive words about them. Stylistically they mix a combined knowledge of dj/sampling skills vs production/beatmaking.

Coming from the depths of the suburbs in the GTA, they’ve been in and out of dusty clubs, smokey bars and urban centres.

This sound comes from two long drawn out musical careers, which in and of itself, is unique to any other.
Highest of hopes, searching for the highest of highs, whilst pushing their way to the top of the club world, end goal-Vegas!

BRIAN IRELAND

Technical finesse and project execution are his trademarks. So please: don’t be surprised when your finished project completely blows your mind
it’s what he does.
SHANE HOCKETT
REDNOTE SELECTOR
Hi name is Shane Hockett. I enjoy messing around with beats when I am not selecting records. I have done it for fun for years.

Over the last number of years I have been inspired mostly by my record collection and those around me. I have tried to use my collection as my sample library in attempts to come up with some of my own beats and grooves.

Most of them are not finalized and most of them are still a work in progress. Sketches if you will
I am lucky enough to have one or two of my tracks featured in some work outside of the regular Mixcloud uploads and previous Live to air HIGHVIEW broadcasts for
Black Donnelly Radio.

I am Grateful that my dedication to music has found a worthy avenue to say the least. I am thrilled to contribute to such a great cause and such an important neighbourhood that means a lot to me since I have been a kid.

I do my best to support the locals and find the culture this city has to offer is magnificent. It should have the opportunity to flourish once again and sustainably move forward for generations to come. Background music or not, we can all play apart in making this a better world and a reality.

Having the privilege of being a part of the Black Donnelly Media family gives me the humble opportunity to shine some hope and support to as many local neighborhoods as we can reach right in our own backyard.
Challenge plus support equals growth. We can handle all that life throws our way, happiness on the other hand is better shared.

I would like to be here to share in the future good times with you and am thankful for all those past.
Respect to you for listening and Thank you for your support!
It sounds great from up here, and can always look brighter

HIPPY
Hippy is the creative collaboration between singer songwriter Paul 'Hippy' Hipson and guitarist Hugh Frizell both based in Glasgow, Scotland.

Prior to the formation of Hippy, Paul has played many well received local and national shows over time and built an enviable reputation as both writer and performer with several single, album and EP releases. Hugh is also a seasoned musician of many years with many gigs, touring and recording work under his belt.

The guys met by chance in Glasgow back in September 2019 and hit it off personally and musically. In doing so they decided to go into the studio to cut a song and see if it clicked between them. It did. The result of that first studio collaboration was the track 'Aries Girl' which was released in November 2019 and met with critical acclaim.

The subsequent follow up songs including, 'Feelgood', 'Junkyard Babies' and 'Volunteer' were received with genuine positivity from critics and fans alike. At this point - with Paul and Hugh both thoroughly enjoying the experience of crafting their songs and finalising them in the studio - the decision was then made to try to attempt to write and record a full album.

The album was successfully completed by September 2020 at the HQ Recording Studios, Glasgow and features 12 tracks, 11 written by Hippy/ Hugh Frizell and one live cover taken from an earlier live appearance in Glasgow - 'Waiting For a Friend' previously sung by The Who's Roger Daltrey.

'Behind Every Song is a Story’ - Hippy was released digitally on all major platforms on October 9th 2020
ANTHONY DONNELLY/
THE MVP BAND
Is a pleasure to share a couple of numbers from a project I was working with quite some time back.
The band was called,
THE MVP
"The Most Valuable Players"
The band consisted of myself,
Gary Moffat, John McCuish, Michael Chapman & Graeme young
Some of the work on our demo was recorded at a Metalworks studios and another one at BLJ Studios.
The band/project made a wonderful LP together, consisting of
a rock and roll vibe.

The chemistry was great between all artists, and it was a pleasure creating the music, and an honor to share them with you.
Feel free to listen to them with a bit of luck, you will download them and take them with you.
I hope the music resonates with you I in one way or another and makes its way into the wormhole of your musical vault
" Music is a universal language that is spoken and understood by all"
May good JuJu find you
JEFF SANDS
My name is Jeffrey Sands from Uncle Jeff’s Kitchen Ceilidh and I’m a resident of Toronto, along with my wife of 25 years and an alarming collection of Books, Instruments and Music….
My primary interests have always revolved around the study of wide-ranging yet obscure topics such as new religious movements or cultural practices, ranging anywhere from Snooker to Swordsmanship.
I’m a Rookie at this Radio Game, and am not a DJ, but with close to 50 years of music listening experience under my belt, I’m certainly aware of the fact that I’ve still got a lot to learn, and this is where the fantastic Artists here at Black Donnelly Media come in: Their skills and experience have pushed me to places that I never thought possible, and that’s certainly helped in these trying times, when motivation’s tough to come by. They’ve also expanded my musical horizons a thousand fold, and have inspired me to explore materials that I might have never been exposed to, otherwise.
In my turn, I hope that my work has pushed them and you as well. Music is the Universal Language and most Humans respond to it immediately and instinctively.
There are several new projects in the works, and I’m looking forward to sharing them with all of the Black Donnelly Family, so Tune In and Black Out and let’s keep this Juggernaut rolling!
