NEON BLOOM
Toronto-based garage rock/synth-pop quartet Neon Bloom is a unique blending of musical styles, creative influences and wonderfully diverse personalities.
Combining the talents of veteran musicians/recording artists Jen Simpson (lead vocals), bassist/guitarist Fred Yurichuk, guitarist/keyboardist Simon Chow and drummer/keyboardist Chris Romano,
Neon Bloom has already staked a claim as one of the most innovative and energetic live bands on the Toronto scene, by invoking their collective experience as live performers, and a dedicated sense of professionalism and passion for their craft.

Formed three years ago, the story behind their origin may not seem to be out of the ordinary on first examination. But dig a little deeper and you realize that the back story gives great meaning to so many aspects of the band, from their energetic stage shows, to their overall look and creative aesthetic, their dedication to their craft, and especially Simpson’s powerful lyrical creations.
More importantly, the story behind the story is why each band member is so committed to one another, and to their collective musical enterprise, and why they approach life and music with such joyful abandon.

SHANE HOCKETT
REDNOTE SELECTOR
Hi name is Shane Hockett. I enjoy messing around with beats when I am not selecting records. I have done it for fun for years.

Over the last number of years I have been inspired mostly by my record collection and those around me. I have tried to use my collection as my sample library in attempts to come up with some of my own beats and grooves.

Most of them are not finalized and most of them are still a work in progress. Sketches if you will
I am lucky enough to have one or two of my tracks featured in some work outside of the regular Mixcloud uploads and previous Live to air HIGHVIEW broadcasts for
Black Donnelly Radio.

I am Grateful that my dedication to music has found a worthy avenue to say the least. I am thrilled to contribute to such a great cause and such an important neighbourhood that means a lot to me since I have been a kid.

I do my best to support the locals and find the culture this city has to offer is magnificent. It should have the opportunity to flourish once again and sustainably move forward for generations to come. Background music or not, we can all play apart in making this a better world and a reality.

Having the privilege of being a part of the Black Donnelly Media family gives me the humble opportunity to shine some hope and support to as many local neighborhoods as we can reach right in our own backyard.
Challenge plus support equals growth. We can handle all that life throws our way, happiness on the other hand is better shared.

I would like to be here to share in the future good times with you and am thankful for all those past.
Respect to you for listening and Thank you for your support!
It sounds great from up here, and can always look brighter

THE TINO BAND
The Tino Band, from Glasgow, Scotland, weree conceived in 2017 from the ashes of The Broken Lovers. Having recorded an album with The Broken Lovers shortly before they imploded, remaining long-term band buddies drummer Pete Dunlop and guitarist Martin Wilkinson were left with an album which was no longer usable.
Songwriter Martin decided to bite the bullet and get a few singing lessons, go back in the studio and record his own vocals over the tracks, becoming the full-time singer and renaming the band The Tino Band after his nickname. Band members James Fletcher and Connor Fleming were recruited on bass and guitar respectively and The Tino Band started treating their local music scene to exciting gigs and infectious tunes.
A second album, Sunshine Rattlesnake, was recorded the following year and released early 2019 just before Connor walked out following a disagreement about financing the album. At this point guitarist Thom Watt was recruited, finally making the unit feel complete. Now with two writers in the band, a stronger sense of the weird and everyone musically on the same page, songs developed and live shows gained confidence before the unfortunate lockdown of 2020 hit us all.
The Tino Band used their time wisely though and committed to rehearsing and recording new material when lockdown restrictions allowed. The result is Broken Doll's House, our third album, due for release on 25th June. We have already started working on the followup and really, really look forward to playing live again!x
