Lost & Found Magic Mushrooms While Cleaning: Micro Dosing Explained
It is amazing what you find when you finally decide to do a proper deep clean on a weekday.

I was spending my Thursday scrubbing down the Black Donnelly Media studio, moving around keyboards, dusting off the stacks of R&R, House & Techno vinyl records, and reorganizing my recording gear, when I stumbled onto a little forgotten treasure trove.
Right there, hiding in plain sight behind a tangle of microphone cables, was a collection of Schedule 35 magic mushroom sample packs.
(The packets were a tip given to me by a client for whom I was working in their home)
Now, folks are always asking me on the Jive Talkin podcast about the ins and outs of micro dosing. They want to know what it actually does, how it feels, and if it is worth the hype. Since the universe decided to drop these into my lap today, I figured it is the perfect time to break it all down for you.
Let us take a closer look at exactly what we have in this stash.

Four Orange Superior Tonic packets. Each one holds five capsules at 50mg of psilocybin a piece, plus some ginseng, bee pollen, and spirulina. That is 250mg per packet, giving us 1000mg total.
One Purple Lower dose packet. This one has five capsules loaded with 100mg of psilocybin each, mixed with maca, horny goat weed, and green tea extract. That adds up to 500mg.
One White Micro-dose packet. This is straight to the point with five capsules at 100mg of psilocybin each. Another 500mg.
One Black Super-dose packet. This is the heavy hitter of the bunch. It contains four capsules, and each one is packed with a whopping 500mg of psilocybin. That is 2000mg right there.
If you do the math on all of that, 1000mg plus 500mg plus 500mg plus 2000mg equals 4000mg. That is exactly (four full grams of magic mushrooms) just sitting on my desk waiting for a purpose. So, what is the real difference between taking a micro-dose and a regular macro dose?
When you micro-dose, you take a tiny amount, like those 50mg or 100mg capsules. It is completely subperceptual. You do not see walls melting or colors shifting in the studio. Instead, it just quietly elevates your day to day routine. You get a nice little boost in your mood, a spark of creativity, and a general sense of sharp focus. It is like having a really good cup of coffee that clears the mental fog and just makes you feel dialed in, which is absolutely perfect when I am staring at the screen for hours editing audio tracks.
I have been reading up on this, and what people are reporting is honestly pretty wild. A lot of folks are using these small doses just to find a lighter mood and a much steadier emotional outlook. Users are constantly saying they feel happier, calmer, and way less irritable as they go about their day. It is being widely explored as a serious tool to calm racing thoughts and lower those daily stress levels that wear us down. On top of that, early studies and surveys are even suggesting that micro-dosing may help reduce symptoms of depression for some people.

It does not stop at just mental health either. People frequently use micro-doses to fight off that awful brain fog, boost their energy, and make it so much easier to actually start and finish their daily tasks. I am reading that a ton of users report a huge increase in open mindedness and out of the box thinking. They are claiming it helps them solve problems way more creatively. When you are staring at a screen trying to edit audio or come up with a new project, that kind of clear focus is exactly what you need.
The physical side of things is pretty fascinating too. Some folks are reporting that micro-dosing helps reduce physical pain, including the severity and frequency of brutal migraines or headaches. Researchers are even looking into how psilocybin might help people change unwanted habits. There are users out there reporting reduced urges for substances like alcohol or tobacco. It is amazing what this plant medicine might be able to do when it is respected and used right.
Now, what happens if I take that entire four gram pile all at once? That is a macro dose. That is where you strap in for a profound, cosmic journey. You are talking about deep life revelations, heavy visual shifts, and a complete reset of your ego. It is an intense ride, it is not for the faint of heart, and it is definitely not something you do while trying to clean your house and mop the floors.
It is wild what you can uncover just trying to sweep up the place. I guess I have a big choice to make right now. I could take a simple micro-dose, enjoy the clarity, and finish cleaning the studio with a big smile on my face. Or, I could eat all four grams right now and see where the universe takes me.
Well, there goes Thursday.........
